Introducing Children to Non-Material Cultural Heritage within Teen Clubs Activities: Socio-Cultural Aspects

Abstract. The paper reveals socio-cultural aspects of introducing children to non-material cultural heritage within teen clubs activities. Relying on developmental psychology conceptions proposed by D. B. Elkonin and D. I. Feldstein, the author identifies the specificity of teen clubs activities. The article analyzes the activities of local lore clubs, museums, educational and recreational institutions to introduce children to non-material cultural heritage, determines organizational and pedagogical conditions for improving teen clubs activities. Scientific originality of the research involves identifying contradictions arising due to incapability of the existing teen clubs to satisfy target audience aspirations to study non-material cultural heritage. The research findings are as follows: the author reveals shortcomings in teen clubs activities for introducing teenagers to non-material cultural heritage, justifies the necessity to develop integrated programs of teen clubs activities.
