Agile Project Management Methodology as a Means to Form Higher School Students’ Information and Communication Competence

Abstract. The paper aims to reveal the specificity of agile project management methodology as a means to form higher school students’ information and communication competence. The article clarifies the notion "information and communication competence", compares agile project management and traditional project management, justifies the reasonability of using agile project management methodology when forming students’ information and communication competence. The author reveals the essence and content of information and communication competence as a basis of professional adaptability, proposes a model of forming higher school students’ information and communication competence on the basis of agile project activities, and herein lies scientific originality of the study. The research findings are as follows: the author identifies distinctive features of agile project management methodology, formulates the basic principles of forming information and communication competence on the basis of agile project activities, determines the approaches to modeling higher school students’ agile project-research activity as a means to form information and communication competence.
