Abstract. The article examines specificity of multicomponent neologisms formation in the XXI-century English language and reveals peculiarities of their translation into Russian. Word combinations are classified according to the main word morphological features (verbal, nominal, adverbial ones) and spheres of usage (technologies, politics, society, economics and science/medicine/ education). The analysis shows that the majority of neologisms are translated into Russian by means of a calque. Descriptive translation, transcription/transliteration, lexico-semantic transformation are used less frequently.
Key words and phrases: неологизм, словообразование, словосочетание, свободные словосочетания, фразеологизм, способы перевода, neologism, word formation, word combination, free word combinations, phraseological unit, translation techniques
