Abstract. The research aims to study Rasul Gamzatov’s poem dedicated to the great Persian poet Hafiz Shirazi (1325-1390), paying attention to the stylistic and artistic features of the work, its content. The paper shows the key stages of the functioning of Persian literature in the Dagestan cultural environment. The research is novel in that it is the first to examine Rasul Gamzatov’s poem "When I Visited the House of Hafiz in Shiraz", addressed to the classic of Persian poetry Hafiz Shirazi. As a result of the research, it has been concluded that R. Gamzatov created the image of the poet endowed with the qualities of a sage, seer and philosopher; it has been shown that the stylistic method of address used by the author in the work is versatile; it has been noted that the common semantic core that makes up the worldview of the poets Rasul Gamzatov and Hafiz Shirazi is love in the broad sense of the word.
