Abstract. The aim of this study is to determine the structural-semantic and national-cultural features of zoomorphic phraseological units (PhU) in the Australian English language. The article deals with the issue of defining Australian English as an independent national language, clarifies the notion of "Australianism", provides a structural-semantic classification of the selected phraseological units and reveals the features of their functioning in the linguoculturological aspect. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time phraseological units with zoonym components are analysed by the material of Australian English. As a result of the study, it has been revealed that the most numerous classes of PhU-Australianisms with components-zoonyms are nominative and nominative-communicative phraseological units, since it is a person and their activity that are the determining factor in phraseological nomination. The national and cultural specificity of the Australian phraseological units with zoonym components is most clearly manifested in connotative content.
