Methodological Model of Teaching Foreign-Language Intercultural Media Communication under Conditions of Manipulative Influence

Abstract. The research objective includes modelling the process of teaching intercultural foreign-language media communication under the conditions of manipulative influence. The article proposes a model of teaching foreign-language media communication under the conditions of manipulative influence, describes results of an experimental approbation of the suggested model. The author justifies the need for a teaching model promoting formation of students’ receptive conventional (sub)competence, identifies methodological principles of teaching intercultural foreign-language communication under the conditions of manipulative influence, and herein lies scientific originality of the study. The experiment testifies that the proposed model improves students’ conventional (sub)competence, which includes readiness and ability to overcome verbal manipulation during the English-language media text perception and also includes the ability to build conventional relationships in the situation of direct intercultural communication.
