Algorithm of Denotative Analysis of Literary Text When Teaching Russian to Foreign Students of Non-Linguistic Specialties

Abstract. The research objective includes developing methodology of working with the Russian-language literary texts at the lessons of Russian as a foreign language at non-linguistic higher school. The researcher proposes using text compression techniques that help learners to understand deeper meaning of a literary text, to identify the author’s intentions, which is especially relevant when teaching reading to foreign students who often have difficulties in understanding ideological and meaningful content of educational texts. Methodology of teaching a literary text analysis to foreign students has not been described yet, which constitutes scientific originality of the study. The research findings are as follows: the author proposes an algorithm for a literary text analysis; the suggested methodology helps foreign students to achieve better understanding of the Russian-language literary texts, and herein lies methodological value of the study.
