Improving the Auditive Competence of Foreign Language Teachers in the System of Additional Professional Education

Abstract. The aim of the study is to substantiate and describe the features of improving the auditive competence of foreign language teachers. The article deals with the linguistic, psychological, content and organizational problems of teaching listening, analyses the psycholinguistic foundations of text comprehension, as well as the process of increasing the level of auditive competence of foreign language teachers. The study presents tasks aimed at developing the auditive competence of foreign language teachers, and also describes the pedagogical conditions necessary for the implementation of this process. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the development of a methodology for improving the auditive competence of foreign language teachers within the framework of additional professional education system. The presented results of the study confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methodology for improving the auditive competence of foreign language teachers.
